Our Team

We have a great team at Juniper Springs Senior Living – guided by goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun. Contact us anytime, we would love to meet you!

Krystall Elzner

Campus Administrator

Krystal started in the senior care industry at a young age. From volunteering at the age of 10 in a skilled nursing facility, to working as a certified nursing assistant at the age of 16 and just continuing from there. She went to college to become a nurse but changed her direction to the administrative side of the health industry. Since 2014, Krystal has worked as either an executive director or a community relations director in various settings. Her favorite part of what she does is building meaningful relationships with the residents, families, friends, and the community team. Krystal’s goal is to always make sure that everyone feels safe, happy, and healthy to the best of her abilities. She strives to lead with heart, honesty, and positivity. She is so excited to be part of a company that has a compass that points to goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun.

When Krystal is not at the community she loves to spend time with her husband fishing, camping, discovering new foods, taking spontaneous trips, or rock hounding. Her wonderful son and his wife have made her a Nana to two beautiful grandsons that steal her heart every time she is with them. Krystal’s daughter is a free-spirited artist that fills her life with color and laughter. Krystal and her husband are new to living in Redmond, but they are not new to the area. Her and her husband have always wanted to live here so they are over the moon excited to finally say that they do.

Julie Pestana

Memory Care Administrator

Julie started her career in senior living in 2010, and has spent most of that time as a vibrant and successful Activities Director. She truly values bringing joy and connection to seniors and you’ll find that her warmth and enthusiasm are truly contagious. With a heart full of compassion and a wealth of knowledge, she’s thrilled to be entering her new role as Memory Care Administrator.

Originally from Hawaii, Julie made Oregon her home in 2011 and hasn’t looked back. When she is not connecting with families and supporting seniors, Julie enjoys gardening, paddle boarding, bowling with her family, collecting frogs, and soaking up the serenity of the ocean. One of Julie’s proudest achievements is being a mom of two amazing children.

Jen Hamman

Community Relations Director

Jen started working in senior living in 2016 with a background in customer service, project management and sales. In 2018, after a recent move to Bend, she accepted the role of Community Relations Director at Juniper Springs. Jen has been a part of our team from, the early days, when the community was still under construction. She speaks highly of those times, learning about the local community, meeting future residents, and helping to shape what Juniper Springs would become. Jen finds nothing more rewarding than making connections with future residents and their families. “Moving and making a life transition can feel like an overwhelming process. I want nothing more than to help future residents and their families simplify the transition and create the best solution for each unique situation.”
As an outdoor enthusiast, Jen moved from Wisconsin to Oregon in 2011 to enjoy a milder climate and be in closer proximity to the mountains and ocean. In her free time, you will find her weightlifting, hiking, and exploring Oregon with her family and two dogs, Olive and Fern.

Shadow Keating

Business Office Coordinator

Shadow, a central Oregon native, joined the Juniper Springs team in May of 2022 when she accepted the role of receptionist. She brought tons of knowledge and experience to the team with a background in sales, customer service, and accounting. In Fall of 2022, she was promoted to the role of business office manager, and we’re thrilled to have her on the management team. She enjoys building relationships with residents and hearing their stories. “Juniper Springs is my first experience in senior living, but I quickly realized how much I love the people and environment here.”
Outside of work you’ll find Shadow enjoying the outdoors as much as possible and spending time with her family and close friends. Shadow loves camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, and working in the yard. She also enjoys painting and DIY project when she’s able to find the time.

Christina Koon

Wellness Director & RN

Christina has always felt called to care for older adults, and that passion has guided her path in healthcare. She graduated from Olympic College in Bremerton in 2019 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grand Canyon University in 2022. With a background in oncology and skilled nursing, Christina brings a strong clinical foundation paired with a heartfelt commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered care. Supporting residents in a way that preserves dignity, promotes comfort, and enhances quality of life is at the core of everything she does.

Christina was born in Hawaii, and her journey most recently brought her from Bainbridge Island, Washington, to Bend, Oregon. She has two adult children—her son is currently serving in the Army, and her daughter is attending COCC while completing her prerequisite courses for nursing school. Christina and her husband recently purchased a home in Powell Butte and are excited to put down roots with their two cats. She hopes to eventually add a horse, chickens, Highlander cows, bees, and a few more critters her husband may not yet know about. In her free time, she enjoys camping, paddle boarding, and spending time outdoors.

At Juniper Springs, Christina feels especially grateful to be part of a community where she can build meaningful relationships with residents and contribute to a culture of compassionate care. It is a privilege for her to serve this population, and she remains committed to making a positive impact each day. Her office is always open, and she welcomes others to stop by anytime. If she’s not there, she can likely be found making rounds and spending time with residents.

Morgan Kline

Assistant Wellness Director (LPN)

Morgan began her career at Juniper Springs in 2017 as a care partner while completing her nursing prerequisites at Central Oregon Community College. In 2019, she entered nursing school and continued working at Juniper Springs throughout her studies. After graduating, she expanded her experience in skilled nursing before returning to Juniper Springs in 2021 as the community’s first Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Following the birth of her child in 2022, she took time to focus on her family and returned to Juniper Springs, again, in 2024. Building strong relationships with residents, their families, and her fellow team members is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Her goal is to ensure everyone feels supported, cared for, and truly at home.

When Morgan is not in the community, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog—often outdoors farming or exploring. Having grown up in Prineville, she has deep roots in Central Oregon and has never lived outside the area. She loves being outside, gardening, and making the most of every moment with her family.

Joy Caffey

Dining Services Director

Joy is a passionate Chef and Dining Services Director with a lifelong dedication to cooking. Her passion began at the early age of five, while spending time at her grandfather’s restaurant. Since that time, she has owned and operated her own restaurants and worked in a variety of kitchens in healthcare settings. In 2025 she accepted the role of Dining Services Director at Juniper Springs. With each new cooking endeavor, she gained new skills. The restaurants helped to build strong experience in leadership, menu development, and operations. The healthcare settings helped to expand her focus to include both nutrition and wellness. You can clearly see all of Joy’s experience come together as she prepares menus, meals, and interacts with our residents. “I have found a true passion for serving seniors. It brings me joy to create dining experiences that bring comfort, and a sense of familiar, happy memories through food.”

Outside of work, you’ll find Joy gardening, cooking, and preserving foods. Above all, she values spending time with her family.

Anna Bik

Life enrichment Director

Anna has been with us since the very beginning, starting her journey as a med tech in 2019 when the community first opened. She later transitioned to receptionist in 2020, and Life Enrichment Assistant in 2022. In January of 2025, she accepted her current role as Life Enrichment Director. No matter what role, it’s clear that connecting with residents has always been a meaningful part of her time at Juniper Springs. She states, “I truly enjoy making a positive impact in residents’ lives by fostering social connections and enhancing their well-being through meaningful activities. Hearing their life stories and sharing their experiences is something I cherish most.”
In her free time, you’ll find Anna spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and gardening.

Cherie Greve

Life Enrichment Director Memory Care

Cherie started in senior living in 2021, with a bachelor’s in psychology and an extensive history working in client relations and event planning. At that time, she had just moved to Redmond, from the Portland area and took a Life Enrichment Director position for a central Oregon assisted living community. In that position, she developed a passion for working with seniors and states, “One of my favorite things about working in a senior community is hearing all the life stories of the residents. I enjoy being able to make a difference in someone’s day, no matter how great or small.”

When she’s not working, you’ll find Cherie spending time with family, cooking, baking, and enjoying the outdoors in her new home, central Oregon.

Zachary Turner

Maintenance Director

Zachary began working in senior living in 2015 as a caregiver, the same year he started his college career at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. In 2019, he took a job as the community bus driver and maintenance assistant at Juniper Springs while continuing his studies in Kinesiology at Oregon State. In the Spring of 2021, Zachary graduated earning his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Following his studies, Zachary changed roles from maintenance assistant and became our Maintenance Director at the start of the 2021 Fall season. His dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff stems from his compassionate heart. “I truly love doing what I can to help our community, and it goes past just general maintenance. Developing relationships with our residents and helping them on a day-to-day basis is what gets me up in the morning. I am here for them, so the least I can do is bring a smile to their face and to keep them safe.”
When he is not working, you can find Zachary snowboarding, skateboarding, and enjoying the vast hiking trails that Central Oregon has to offer. He also enjoys reading, soccer and disc golf–really anything that sets the mind free. Away from the outdoors, he spends his time with his two nephews, parents, and sister that all live here in Central Oregon.
