Our Team

We have a great team at Shorewood Senior Living – guided by goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun. Contact us anytime, we would love to meet you!

Kellie Daugherty

Executive Director

Kellie has been working in senior living since 2019 and brings this knowledge into Shorewood Senior Living. She has experience with the Disney Corporation, was a certified activity director, and worked her way up to becoming a licensed Executive Director in this community. Kellie brings her high energy and positive attitude to every workday. When she’s not bringing joy to others, Kellie can be found spending quality time with family and her five rescue dogs.

Andrea Sanchez

Community Relations Director

Andrea is originally from Mexico City, Mexico and has lived in Oregon her entire life. Andrea started working at Shorewood Senior Living as the Business Services Assistant in December of 2018. While continuing to work at Shorewood, Andrea went on to attend and graduate college with honors, with an associate degree in business administration, and a transfer degree. Andrea stays busy with helping take care of financials for her family’s business in her free time, and a housekeeping job on the weekends. In her free time, when she has it, she enjoys attending Formula 1 races, going kayaking, traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.

Susan Burkhart

Business Services Director

“What is my passion? Serving the people at Shorewood Senior Living,” says Susan. Susan has been a part of this community since 1994. She is thrilled to work for the new owners as of July 2016. “Who wouldn’t like to work for a company with the motto Guided by goodness, loyalty, faith and fun?” Shorewood has been a major part of Susan’s family. Her husband retired after 16 years as Kitchen Director. They raised four children during that time–three of them learned to work at Shorewood. Shorewood has been a major part of baby showers, graduations, weddings, and more babies for her family. Susan has enjoyed sharing her life with the elders and being a part of their lives. As Business Services Director, she will continue to serve and make a positive difference in the lives of the Shorewood family.

Jody Terry

Dining Services Director

Jody joined the Shorewood family in 2023, bringing with her a genuine passion for hospitality and many years of experience in the restaurant industry. Some in the Florence community may know her as the original owner of Homegrown, a local restaurant she started from the ground up and ran for five years.

During that time, Jody worked hard to create a welcoming space focused on good food and strong community connections. Homegrown became a special place for many, thanks to her dedication and care.
At Shorewood, Jody brings that same thoughtful approach and steady leadership. We’re grateful to have her as part of our team and appreciate the heart she puts into everything she does.

Lacey Kirby

Life Enrichment Director

Lacey is originally from the small town of Fredericktown, Missouri, and made the move to Washington in 2014. Over the years, she embraced a variety of roles that shaped her career, ultimately landing a caregiving position and advancing to a supervisory role at a care facility for individuals with developmental disabilities. Lacey’s work has always been focused on creating a nurturing and supportive environment for both residents and staff. In 2023, she relocated to Oregon, eager to explore new opportunities and experiences. In March of 2025, Lacey joined the Shorewood family as the Life Enrichment Director, bringing her experience and passion to her new role. She is dedicated to enhancing the lives of those she serves by creating meaningful activities and experiences that promote engagement, well-being, and a sense of community. Outside of her professional life, Lacey is passionate about art, music, and spending quality time with her wonderful husband and four amazing boys. Family outings are a cherished part of her life, and she is always seeking new ways to create lasting memories with her loved ones.

John Tacy

Maintenance Director

Born and raised in Modesto, CA, John comes from a family of six and has always had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether it’s fishing, gardening, or cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, he is happiest when staying active and connected to nature. John spent 10 years working in Yosemite, where he developed a strong appreciation for its beauty and adventure. For many years, John has been proud to be part of the team at Shorewood, bringing passion and experience to everything he does.

Amy Smith

Housekeeping Director

Amy has been part of Shorewood Senior Living since 2015, marking her third time with the community. She was first hired on June 1, 1995, then returned on June 1, 1996, after taking a year off for school, and was rehired again on June 1, 2015—how ironic that each time it was the same date! Amy has lived in Florence since 1989. She remembers moving from the East Coast in the middle of winter, and on the very first day of school, it snowed. Classes were canceled for the week, and her grandmother joked that they had “brought the winter weather” with them.

Amy is a homebody who loves spending time with her family. She lives with her cat, Mickey, who has a strong personality and only allows a few people in the house—including her mother. One thing that surprises people about Amy is that, despite all the technology around her, she still writes letters the old-fashioned way—pen, paper, and envelopes. She started pen paling at age 11 and continues to this day, keeping in touch with friends across the country and around the world. Her pen pals range in age from their 30s to 80s, and she happily invests in stamps to keep those connections alive.

Known for her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for everyone around her, Amy was honored with the Compass Hero Award in 2025—a reflection of the positive impact she has on the Shorewood community every day.
